Welcome to the Tour de Bakerton series!

Welcome to Le Tour de Bakerton Series. This is a work in progress. The plan is to have it up and running early in the 2011 riding season. Please read over our ideas and feel free to comment and make suggestions.

You may join the tour at anytime. Just sign up and pay your money.

Points breakdown: 3 for first, 2 for second, 1 for third, and 6 for a stage completion.

You must be a paid club/tour member to be scored.

You must sign the sign in sheet to be scored for the tour stage. If you score points during a stage on a climb or sprint you must record it on the sign in sheet. No "yea buts"

You must regroup in order to earn points for an individual points sprint or climb. The regroup points are: crossing 230, Start of Ridge Road, the start of River Road, the sharp turn before Duncan, the last regroup point is after Duncan hill.

If you are a point's leader you must wear your wrist band. You must also give it up if you no longer are a point's leader.

Results of the stage will be emailed to all riders by Friday following a stage ride.

All decision made by the ride judges are final and you must live with the results.

This sport does not allow for performance enhancing substances. So, just say NO!!

Also safety is our highest concern. Our club "Code of Conduct" and basic rules will apply. Any rider performing UNSAFE practices will be subject to suspension or elimination. UNSAFE practices are defined as, but not limited by:

  • Pushing or shoving or other unnecessary physical contact
  • Riding left of center (Remember this is not a closed course)
  • Not warning non-racing riders of your presence

Our long standing cycling etiquette will be observed on all Bakerton rides. Should a rider have a mechanical problem or any other situation they will be attended to as in the past.

Now that all of the rules and regs are out of the way... Let the games begin!!!!

Here is the link to the Tour de'Bakerton Series route map.

Overall:
117
Climbs:
35
Sprints:

On each stage ride, there will be three climbs for points and two sprints for points. We will re-group near the sprint and climb starts so we can all start at the same time. We'll mark the locations of the starts and finishes on the road. The climbs will be at mile mark 3-4 for 3/2/1 points, mile mark 14-16 for 3/2/1 points and mile mark 19-20 for 3/2/1 points. The sprints will be at mile mark 6-9 for 3/2/1 points and mile mark 22 to the Bakerton church light pole finish line for 3/2/1 points. The mile marks are approximate locations just for reference on the map.

  • Climb # 1 - "Steeple Chase"
  • Sprint # 1 - "Ridge Rd to Gardners Ln"
  • Climb # 2 - "Up off the River"
  • Climb # 3 - "Duncan Hill #2"
  • Sprint # 2 - "Finish: Carter Ave"

Each time you complete a stage you will get 6 points for finishing the stage. Your top 8 stages will be scored for total Tour points. At the end of the 2011 Tour season there will be an awards banquet where the following jerseys (wrist bands) will be awarded in two categories for a total of six jersey(wrist bands) winners: yellow (overall winner), green (sprints) and polka dot (climbs). The CAT 1 should be for riders that are ranked in the A-B classification and the CAT 2's would be the C-D group. If a person is ranked in a class that is not deemed correct we will ask that they move up a class.
