- Mt Biking Labor Day Weekend
Dan & I are planning on trying to get out to Greenbrier/Gambrill/somewhere this weekend, probably on Sunday morning. Anybody else interested in going? We are up for suggestions if someone wants to go somewhere else, as long as it's not too much driving. I'll likely have about 4-5 hours for the whole trip, driving included. Post up or call/text.

301.788.3072 - Hot Tub Fun!!
Made you look! Jennifer and I just had a new hot tub delivered to the house and we need a few strong backs to lift it onto the deck. The total weight is around 400lbs. The total distance it needs to be carried is about ten feet and the total elevation change (aka. steps) is around 6 feet. I have cold beer and thanks to offer. If you can help after the ride tonight(Friday 9/3) or sometime Monday please post, email, or call 304-876-1804. Cheers Scott and Jen
- MoCo Epic MTB Ride
Those of us at the Cranky Monkey MTB races already know about this, but I thought I'd post up anyway about the MoCo Epic Ride on Sunday, October 17.
Here's info from the MORE Forums...

- Make-up Back Roads Century..
I know this was done last year by a few members and maybe we should do it again before this season is over. For all of the members who could'nt get registered in time or chose not to pay for the ride,we should have our own century. We can meet at Clarke Co. High School and do the route and just be self supported. Or we can recruit a couple of volunteers to run a couple SAG vehicles for us. I would be up for it. Could be a fun day out for the club.

- Deer
Tonight I was coming downhill to a blind curve (about 25 mph), looked up with a car coming towards me and a deer in my lane. Car ends up off his side of the road, the deer goes back and forth until he gets out of the road. I lock up the brakes, fish tail quite abit but keep upright until the deer gets out the way. With the sun going down sooner, and us riding in more the twilight, be very carfeful of the deer and make your self visible to cars.

- Bakerton 9-1-10
I'm out again today (fantasy football drafts of all things)...
- Feel free to park and ride!
- The REST of 4-lane Rt.9 is OPEN!!!
WOOHOO!!! I'm probably behind the curve on this, but I just got word that the "rest" of 4-lane Rt.9 is OPEN. It's about freaking time! It's been 99% finished for about 2 years.
Some of you may never use it...but it will make life a LOT easier for anyone going to/from Martinsburg and getting over to I-81 (or getting to Charles Town from I-81).

- Tuesday Hilly Ride 8.24.10
Due to ever diminishing daylight, the Tuesday hilly ride for tomorrow evening will start at 5:45 instead of 6:00. Sunset for Tuesday, 8/24 is 7:43. That will give us about 2 hrs to complete the ride. If you have a light, it may be a good idea to bring it along. See ya at the Canal Rd parking lot tomorrow evening at 5:45. Charlie
- Anyone have a tool for removing external BB bearings?
(This question is mainly aimed at Jeff Brandenburg, LOL...but just in case anyone else has one...)
Does anyone have a special wrench for loosening/tightening external bottom bracket bearings like these:

The bottom bracket on my mountain bike is creaking like crazy and driving me INSANE!!!! It's definitely NOT the pedals or the chainring bolts...so it's got to be somewhere in the BB (maybe some dirt or rust or something?)

WV DOH has provided PPCC approval to Adopt a Highway. Our road is the bike path beginning near Kohls and ends at Bardane, just about 2.2 miles. PPCC needs to have 3 clean ups per year beginning Aug thru next July 2011 to qualify for its own sign recognizing our efforts.
There are several dates that I like to propose for our first cleanup.
Oct 23, 24,or 30
Nov 7 or 14Please reply to this event and let me know what date(s) are good for everyone to help. Event time will be from 0900 thru 1200. All necessary supplies for cleanup will be provided by the DOH.
Thanks for your reply.
